Katie Green, DVM

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Green received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Florida (GO GATORS!) before attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. During her clinical year of Vet School at UF, she wrote a paper that was published in the Journal of Veterinary and Comparative Oncology titled “Bilateral removal of the mandibular and medial retropharyngeal lymph nodes through a single ventral midline incision for the staging of head and neck cancers in dogs”. While living on the gorgeous island of St. Kitts, Dr. Green participated in a research project on artificial reefs and the fish that would choose to live there.

Jacksonville Veterinarian, Katie Green DVM, worked for several years at the Jacksonville Humane Society prior to owning Intracoastal West. She currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Jacksonville Veterinary Medical Society.

Dr. Green enjoys teaching veterinary students and helping the community. She has been a volunteer with Operation Catnip since 2008; starting as a volunteer checking cats in for surgery and working her way up to performing and teaching high volume spay/neuter surgery to student surgeons. Dr. Green loves to travel to Ecuador with the UF veterinary student group, Project Heal, to provide preventative veterinary care and spay/neuter surgery to pets and livestock in rural areas with limited access to veterinary care.

Special interests include high-quality, high-volume pediatric spay/neuter, soft tissue surgery, surgical oncology, dentistry, and oral surgery.

Dr. Katie Green has 4 cats: Mama Iris aka The Queen, Hayden, Ramone, and Rocky, along with 1 dog Hank who thinks he is a 65lb cat.  She looks forward to meeting your furry family members.

In 2021 Dr. Green won the Rainbow Award for Jacksonville’s Best Veterinarian.
